My Visit to Singapore & Malaysia
My trip to Singapore and Kaula Lumpur during 24th Dec 2002 and 19th Jan 2003 was educative and exciting.
Singapore : It takes 4hrs and 20 mins to fly from Bangalore to Changi International Airport, Singapore. The city has lot of Apartment condominium complexes.
From World trade center, we need to go by the cable car to the Sentosa islands which have tourist places like butterfly park, National heritage museum, under water world and Magical fountain shows. Other tourist places of visit are National history museum, Fort canning-The battle box, Jurong bird park, Reptile park, Singapore zoological gardens, Night safari, Science centre, Botanical gardens, orchid gardens, Bonsai gardens, Chinese and japanese gardens, West coast park, east coast beach park, Tigerbalm park, The suntec city, The raffles place and the orchard road.
Singapore has 24 well established Hindu temples of which the Mariamman temple on serangoon road, the Krishna temple at Bugis and the Srinivasa perumal temple at Little india are as old as 150 years. I had an opportunity of visiting the Vishwanathar temple of Paya lebar and the Murugan temple of Bukit panjang. Madurai T N sheshagopaln's concert was going on in a specially erected pendal behind the Krishna temple of Bugis. The Mustafa centre on the Serangoon road is the greatest shopping attraction for Indian tourists. The lion dance and tiger dance at the chua chu kang shopping mall was a welcome program to the Chinese new year.
My visit to the Ngee Ann Polytechnic, The Singapore polytechnic, Temasek polytechnic and the Nanyang polytechnic was very informative. Also the Singapore institute of management, Management development institute of Singapore and Asia pacific management centre are the centers for management education. I had a great opportunity of visiting The logistics institute and the Singapore-MIT alliance at the National University of Singapore. With the help of a friend, I also visited the robotics lab at the department of production engineering of the Nanyang technological university. The Institute of technical education which has many branches through out the island, runs craftsman training courses in all trades.
Singapore has excelled in service sector especially in theme parks, amusement parks, shopping and tourism. The theme parks have bird and animal shows, one like dolphin show at sentosa. It is great to move in LRT, MRT and buses. The whole Island is mapped and modelled in all areas of administration, society and education. There is a high degree of automation in public transport and services. There are cameras everywhere, with speed cameras on express highways.
Malaysia:The night journey by train from Singapore to KL was pleasant. The Genting Highlands has a number of casinos and good for scenic beauty. It is a thrill to climb down from the hills in a cable car. KL, has other places of visit like the national museum, The Kings palace,The national Mosque and the Independence day grounds. The world's tallest towers, the Twin petromas towers are marvels to watch. From the KL towers, the whole ariel view of KL is Visible. The mid valley megamall is the largest shopping complex.
